Cirebon is City of Shrimps. Cirebon city is a nice and beautiful city in the North Coast of java Island. Close to the border of West Java and central Java. The city lies on Jalur Pantura (Pantai Utara Jawa). Its name is often said to be derived from the Sundanese words of "Cai" (or river) and "Rebon" (or "shrimp").
Cirebon had many traditional culture such as Topeng dance, Batik Cirebonan, Sintren, and Tarling. Many traditional food can you find there, such as Empal gentong, Docang, Tahu Gejrot(fried tofu with red sugar topping), Nasi Jamblang(bowls of dishes to accompany rice served on teak leaves), Nasi Lengko (vegetarian rice with tofu and beansprout), Intip (rice snack), Kerupuk Mlarat(Chips made of tapioca flour and fried in hot sand (not oil)) and then Emping (Padi Oat Crackers).
Cirebon has four kratons such as, kratons Kasepuhan, kratons kanoman, kratons kacirebonan, kratons kaprabonan.
The most thing I like in Cirebon is, wherever you go, you can easily find a food corner,Started from the cheapest till the most expensive one. And if you wanna go somewhere by public transportation, it’s easy for you to get them. Cirebon which always crowded with ‘an gkot and becak’ will work again.
